Google Chrome receives iOS 26 update

Ana sayfa / News

With the release of iOS 26, Google completely revamped Chrome for iPhone and iPad. The update, which came with Chrome version 141, introduced a new design language called Liquid Glass. The changes to the app interface are notable for both aesthetic and functionality.

The Tab Grid section is a particular highlight in the revamped interface. The buttons for switching between tabs, tab groups, and incognito mode, as well as the search bar, now have a more transparent and modern look. The editing icons at the bottom have also been redesigned in line with the same design. Menus are now presented as partially transparent boxes with softer corners, rather than rigid structures that take up the entire screen.

The on/off switches in the Settings section are also part of the updated interface. New confirmation icons provide a more visually distinct guidance to the user. The tab loading animation is now designed to more closely resemble the classic iOS spinning gear icon.

The improvements in Chrome aren’t limited to appearance. The keyboard design, which debuted with iOS 26, has also received special touches. Tools like voice search and Google Lens, previously located fixed above the keyboard, are now a movable control bar. This bar can reposition itself based on user movements, providing greater flexibility.

These comprehensive changes Google has made to Chrome aim to provide the app with a more cohesive and integrated experience with iOS. Whether the Liquid Glass design will be integrated into other Google apps like Gmail, Google Maps, and YouTube in the future remains to be seen.

The updated Chrome interface is gradually rolling out to all iPhone and iPad users. These design changes, combined with visual transparency and rounded edges, bring the app more in line with the overall iOS design language.
